My Short Summer Break Progress Report

As I only had a week and a half off from school because I was silly and signed up for summer classes, my first summer break was roundly unproductive. I intentionally spent the first wednesday through monday doing nothing laborful: reading The EarthSea Trilogy, playing Kingdom Hearts, cuddling, sleeping. I had meant, however, for this past week to have been a bit more productive. I wanted to have read all of Livy's War With Hannibal by today, recommended but not required reading for an upcoming class, but I am only 65 of 700 pages in. =) I also did not really go anywhere or do any exploring like I kinda wanted to. I was simply too lazy to motivate myself enough to leave the house for any reason other than food and work. On the upside we did tidy up the house a wee-bit and I sewed my smock together. I also attempted a teensy bit of bad needle work along the neckhole of which I am more proud than I should admit. Unfortunately, I followed the pattern/instructions explicitly and therein ended up with a bit bigger of a neckhole than I would have like. Next time I know that 9x9 is a eensy-bit too big for what I like.

Let's see. Oh, we got spring quarter grades back. I did a bit better in two of my classes than I though I would, but a teeny bit worse in another of my classes. The end result was the lowest grade I've gotten whilst at the UW, but it really wasnt that bad of a score and I don't really think I could have done anything differently in that class to have gotten a higher grade, so I am trying not to be too bummed out about it. The final tally was:

Intro to Social Methods - SOC 220: 3.8 (I had expected more around a 3.9 or 4.0. I must not have done as well on the final as I would have liked)

Archaeological Mapping - ARCHY 371: 4.0 (which really surprised me because I didn't think I did so super in that class, I had expected a 3.7)

Archy Lab - ARCHY 299: 4.0 (this was only a 1 credit class where as long as I put in my 20 hours of lab work I would get a 4.0)

History Junior Seminar, Alexander's Conquests, Why? - HIST 388E: 3.4 (this is the low grade class. As most of my short papers in this class were 3.0's, I must have done well on my research paper that I procrastinated terribly on)

Total quarter GPA: 3.75 ; Total UW GPA: 3.85

This summer I will be taking The Ancient World - HIST 111 (5), Roman Republic - HSTAM 3## (5), and Latin and Greek in Current Usage - Clas 101 (2).

Also, last night I had a really weird dream that my 11 year old sister was a raging pothead. Oiy.
